Cabo Roig – the jewel of the Orihuela Costa

What to explore and what to expect in the stunning resort of Cabo Roig, Orihuela Costa.

Wide palm tree lined boulevards, clean white sandy beaches and beautiful detached villas are what make Cabo Roig an exceptional destination on the southern Costa Blanca in Spain. Cabo Roig, located in the Orihuela Costa area of the Costa Blanca, is a popular resort with visitors from all over Europe and indeed the world. The Spanish themselves love the area and thousands flock here, especially from the Merindad, during the hot summer months, especially August, when many Spaniards take a month’s annual holiday. Cabo Roig tends to be particularly lively from May to November and somewhat quieter during the winter months.

Cabo Roig is known for its splendid detached villas if you are interested in buying villas throughout the Costa Blanca Torrevieja, Alicante area you can contact Vitania home solutions.
On the beach side of the busy N332 coastal road, there is a large selection of detached villas with beautifully manicured gardens and some with their own swimming pools. Some of the best villas are located at the top of the famous coastal road leading to La Zenia, all with stunning views over the resort of La Manga del Mar Menor. Enjoying this drive, one gets an idea of “how the other half lives” and it is nice to dream of one day owning one of these “millionaire’s” homes, but for most people it is only a dream. The old 16th century watchtower next to which Cabo Roig was built is now included in the popular bar.

The beaches in and around Cabo Roig are pristine and generally safe and secure (perhaps apart from La Zenia beach, which is subject to strong spring currents). The two important beach areas of Cabo Roig, Cala Caleta and Cala Capitan, are very well managed and enjoy some popularity during the summer. Cala Caleta has a charming chiringuito, which is an exceptional place for tapas and a well-deserved drink.
